1. Gulam Navi from Uttarakhand. He won the Gold Medal in Boys Under 21-  67kg Category in Weightlifting.

Gulam Navi is from Khatima, Jamour, where he grew up visiting the only gym in that district to watch his coach train. He wanted to be just like his coach and started training under him. As he grew, he was introduced to his current coach, Rajdeep Chaudhary in Kashipur, who helped him learn his technique with weights. Today, Gulam trains in the Army Sports Institute.

Winning the gold right now, he believes he will be able to get a job that will support his weightlifting career. He dedicates his win, his motivation, his good nutrition, all to his coaches and seniors.

His favourite all-time athlete is Ilya Ilyin and loves his technique of Clean and Jerk.

 

 

 

2. Nikhil Vasekar

Nikhil Vasekar of Jalna, Maharashtra loved Archery from childhood; he has a few family members already playing this particular sport and has grown up watching them , hence developing love for the sport. What he loves best is the quality he has picked up from this sport — the ability to focus.

He is coached extensively by Prakash D’Souza, who has helped him reach the International stage. Now, Nikhil dreams of winning a lot of medals for the country and becoming a world champion!

He is motivated by his favourite all-time athlete Milkha Singh.
