Dominant display from openers Sumit Chavan & Rishi Bhosle won Swami Vivekananda the tie

Giles Shield,

U-14 Boys.

Swami Vivekananda International School Kandivali VS St. Gregorious High School Chembur

Venue: Oval Maidan, Mumbai.

St. Gregorious won the toss and elected to field, which wasn’t the best decision in hindsight. Openers Sumit Chavan and Rishi Bhosle picked up the mantle with steadily understanding the ball movement early in the morning. The pair picked up gaps in the field and rotated the strike responsibly. With both crossing 50 runs and no sign of leaving the field, Gregorious started to panic. Skipper Harsh Doshi bowled Rishi at 70 & Sumit followed suit at 72 being bowled by Dhanay Doshi. Pratham Bhavsar added 15 & skipper Kshitij Singh added 8 as Swami Vivekananda put up a respectable total of 227/5 in 45 overs. St. Gregorious could have started better with skipper Harsh Doshi getting leg before for 10 runs. Shlok followed suit for 7 runs as batting order crumbled under pressure. Meet Sheth and Danish Doshi were soon hugging the bench again after getting bowled for 5 & 3 respectively. The whole team collapsed for 119 to a 100+ runs loss.
