Swami Vivekanand triumphs over St. Stanislaus with a 302 run margin

After winning the toss on a grassy pitch and choosing to set a target for the opposition, the duo from Swami Vivekanand’ started cautiously ball-by-ball till 10 overs scoring 68 – 0, courtesy some wayward bowling from St Stanislaus giving away 128 in 20 overs without making any inroads into their batting line—up. Opener Prateek Gond was the star of the day having scored slowly but steadily watching every ball very closely to the corner of his eye, notching up his maiden ton. Having used 41 deliveries to reach 50, he quickly changed gears to hit St Stanislaus bowlers all over the park ending up on 151 off 91 balls with 25 fours concluding the opening stand of 235 in 29.2 overs with his partner Rishi Bhosle scoring 64 off 86 balls with 5 fours. The middle order pushed on the scoring with their finishing contributions ending up on 355 – 4 in 42 overs. However, St Stanislaus had to score 387 following an 32 run penalty imposed by the officials due to the slow over rate. In pursuit to chase the revised total of 387, St Stanislaus lost an early wicket at 23, Captain Raj Ruke from Stanislaus  tried his bit to hold one end up eventually falling for 22. It was a sudden collapse of wickets with the spinners Nishant Kadam and Rishi Shah wreaking havoc picking up 8 between them. Off-Spinner Nishant Kadam picked a 5fer while Rishi picked up 3.
