India’s Bright Future- IPL

IPL has offered a million opportunities to many domestic cricketers all across India. India being a cricket concentric country everybody is loving the vibe. Here are some interviews that we took  from the best of the young talent in our country to know their views about the IPL 2019.

Vignesh Solanki, who trains at Sanjeevani Cricket Academy and has represented Mumbai U-19, is an ardent supporter of  Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019. Here he is answering a few questions about the most awaited cricket series of the year!

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for RCB?

Virat Kohli; because he has been a consistent performer for India and has been the highest run getter for RCB these past few years.

And, Shivam Dube. A fellow Sanjeevani Cricket Academy player,  Shivam has been a consistent performer for Mumbai in the domestic circuit and performed extremely well in the T20 Mumbai Premier League. Also, he will come handy with the ball for RCB this IPL.

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap?

I hope Virat Kohli wins the orange cap because of his consistent performance & think Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians will win the purple cap because he is a T20 specialist bowler; his variations should come handy.

 

  • RCB’s bowling has been the main concern for them these past few IPLs. What do you think of it?

I believe the RCB bowlers will perform quite well this IPL, as they have added few youngsters like Prayas Ray Barman, Washington Sundar etc.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

Mumbai, RCB, CSK & Sunrisers; because all the four teams have a balanced side &  have at least 2-3 match winners on the side.

 

Parag Ovhal, who trains at Sanjeevani Cricket Academy and has represented Mumbai U-19, is a huge supporter of the Mumbai Indians.

 

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for MI?

Rohit Sharma; because he has been a consistent performer for India so far. Add to it that he has been leading Mumbai Indians successfully for the last few years.

 

And Jasprit Bumrah; as he has the ability to bowl death! This should help MI in the crucial stages. Add to that, he has also been a consistent player so far.

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

Mohammed Shami. He’s got pace & he is bowling quite well with the new ball; his Yorker delivery is something to watch out for!

  • Last year, death bowling was a major issue for Mumbai. What do you think of this year’s team combination?

This year, Mumbai Indians have picked the team quite well. They have Mayank Markande, Krunal Pandya & Yuvraj Singh who can prove to be quite handy in the death overs. I think Pollard should not be in the first 11 for first few matches because Pandya brothers should do the trick.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

MI, KKR, Delhi & Punjab. They appear to be quite a strong side on paper. If their performance is consistent, they will make it to the top 4 of IPL 2019.

 

 

  • Sanket Kashte of Sanjeevani Cricket Academy has also represented Mumbai U-19. He will be supporting CSK

 

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for CSK?

Suresh Raina; because he is my favourite! Plus, he has scored 300 plus runs in every IPL. I expect he will play some match winning knocks for CSK this year too.

 

And M.S Dhoni!  He is at his peak form and will surely try his best to make CSK retain the trophy. His captaincy will also matter the most in this year’s IPL.

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

Virat Kohli; he is currently the best batsman in the world! If RCB wants to go through to the top 4, he needs to perform on the consistent basis just like he has been for the past few years.

 

Jasprit Bumrah. He is currently the best bowler in the world! Because of his variations, he is bowling superbly in the beginning as well as in the death overs. It’s very difficult to play Bumrah in the death overs. Rishab Pant should get the Promising Youngster’s award in this year’s IPL.

 

  • Do you think CSK will be able to retain the IPL trophy?

Yes, CSK will be able to retain the trophy because the team is very balanced as compared to other 7 sides in the IPL.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

CSK, MI, RCB & DD. The side is very balanced & specially Delhi will be desperate to perform quite well in this year’s IPL as they have picked up a very young side.

 

 

  • Bhusan Talwadekar, of Sanjeevani Cricket Academy and a Mumbai U-19 player is Supporting KXIP

 

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for KXIP?

K.L Rahul; he has performed consistently in last year IPL and scored the fastest IPL 50 (50 runs in 15 balls!). He has the ability to play both — attack and defence — depending on the situation.

 

And R.Ashwin. He has been a good performer these past few IPLs.

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

Virat Kohli! He is currently the best batsman in the world.

 

R.Ashwin who is quite economical in the death & picks up crucial wickets in the middle overs too.

 

  • Punjab didn’t perform as a team in the last few year’s IPL. What do you think about their team combination in this year?

 

They have a very balanced side this year. Chris Gayle & Mayank Agarwal are at their peak. Youngsters like Prabhsimran Singh & Mandeep Singh have performed quite well in the domestic circuit this year. And Mohammed Shami has been performing  well in the limited overs for the last few years.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

KXIP, RCB, MI & RR: They have balanced sides & if they perform as a team they will be in the top 4.

  • The World Cup is right after the IPL this year. Do you think some players need to rest during IPL?

 

Yes! Definitely. Some players have to rest during the IPL season as it is a completely different format & one needs a totally different mindset to play a 50 over game. I am sure Indian Selection Committee has identified the 15-member team that will be going to the World Cup and same with the rest of the countries too.  They should definitely rest the World Cup squad.

 

Omkar Ghule of VPMS Vidyamandir, Dahisar has represented Mumbai U-19, and will be supporting Delhi Team

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for Team Delhi?

 

 

Shreyas Iyer. Because he has had a superb domestic season for Mumbai this year! Recently, he scored 150 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20. I expect he will play a few match-winning knocks too.

Shikhar Dhawan. He has been playing really well for India these past couple of years. In last year’s IPL, he played some beautiful match-winning innings for SRH. He will probably do the same thing for Delhi.

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar of SRH will win the Purple Cap. Because he is in superb form. He can give major breakthrough in the beginning as well as in the death overs.

 

Virat Kohli of RCB will win the Orange Cap. Because he is in superb form & playing wonderfully for RCB these past 3-4 years. I think he will continue that form this year too!

 

  • Do you think DC will qualify for the Semi Finals?

 

Yes, because this year they have picked a young team along with some international experience; the side looks really balanced compared to the previous years.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

MI, CSK, Delhi & Hyderabad: All four side are balanced, they have covered up almost all the departments. Delhi & Mumbai will be desperate to make it to the top 4

 

Vedant Murkar of Sharadaashram Vidyamandir, Dadar and Mumbai U-19 player is supporting Team Hyderabad.

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for SRH?

 

David Warner. Because he has played some great t20 knocks in different leagues this past year. He will be the key performer for SRH in this year.

 

Rashid Khan. He can be a match winner for his batting as well as bowling performance. He has played some match winning knocks for SRH in last year’s IPL

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

 

Jasprit Bumrah. He is  bowling quite well not just in the beginning but in the death overs as well.

 

Virat Kohli. He is playing awesome for India; am sure he will continue the same form for RCB too!

 

  • What do you think about SRH chances for semi final?

I think they have picked up a really balanced side & their bowling department is one of the best in this year’s IPL

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

MI, CSK, RCB & SRH. – All the 4 teams have covered up all the departments. RCB will be desperate to qualify for the semis in this years IPL

 

Atharva Chavan of  Balmohan Vidyamandir English, Dadar  and Mumbai U-19 will be supporting RR

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for RR?

 

Steve Smith: He has played some great t20 knocks for the past 1 year in different leagues. He will be desperate to make a mark in this year’s IPL.

 

Ajinkya Rahane: He has been a consistent performer for RR in the last couple of years. He has played really good knocks in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20.

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

Purple Cap: Jasprit Bumrah as he has been bowling well for the last couple of years. He can give crucial breakthrough in the death overs.

 

Orange Cap: Rishabh Pant. I think he will be the star performer for Delhi in this years IPL

 

  • What do you think about RR chances in this year’s IPL?

RR will be a dark horse in this years IPL. I think Sanju Samson,  Jos Butler & Ben Stokes need to play really well to qualify for the semis

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

 

RR, MI, SRH & KKR: RR will be a surprise package in this years IPL. I think all the four teams have some 2 or 3 match winning players who has the ability to take their team into the semis.

 

Mohit Tanwar of  Springfield Rizvi, Bandra and Mumbai U-14 player will be supporting KKR

 

  • Who do you think will be the top performer for KKR?

Chris Lynn: He has played some match winning knocks in the recent t20s. He has the ability to change the match in one over.

 

Sunil Narine: He has been a great wicket taker in the recent t20 matches. I think this year he will open the innings for KKR

 

  • Who do you think will win the Orange Cap & Purple Cap in IPL 2019?

 

Dwayne Bravo  will win the purple cap. He has bowled really well in the recent t20 innings. He is bowling really well in the death overs.

 

Virat Kohli.  I think he will continue his winning form for RCB as he has been for India.

 

  • What do you think about KKR bowling line-up in this year IPL?

 

KKR bowling line up is really balanced, as they have Narine, Kuldeep, Russell & have picked up really good domestic players.

 

  • Who do you think will be in the top 4?

 

CSK, KKR, DD & RCB: All the four teams are really balanced. This year RCB will be desperate to make it into the semis.
