Navroz Cricket Club: The Champions Of KheloMore Junior Cup 2020

JUNIOR CUP 2020 FINALS 

 

 

The KheloMore Junior Cup 2020 finale was held on 6 March 2020. It was a pivotal day for both the teams: Navroz Cricket Club and New Hind Sporting Club. The match was a solid fight between the finalists but the boys of Navroz Cricket Club emerged victorious with their score. 

 

 

 

 

 

The Runner up for the tournament The New Hind Sporting also gave a tough fight to the Navroz CC. They defeated The Lord Northbooks Cricket Academy in he semi-final to find a spot in the finals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Man of the Tournament & Man of the Match: Nishit Bhalla (Navroz Cricket Club)

 

Nishit Bhalla was awarded the man of the series for his remarkable performance throughout. He has delivered the goods whenever his team has needed it the most. He has been a remarkable player for the longest time. Player workload is a much talked about subject for all cricketers. The trouble is that it’s difficult to rest someone who wears as many hats as Nishit Bhalla. He is a genuine all-rounder and maintains a good balance between the ups and downs of the match. No one has been involved in more balls per match than him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best Bowler: Abhiyanshu Jha (New Hind Sporting Club)

He bowled beautifully and never let his performance down. this young lad was consistent throughout the tournament, which is very difficult to see now a days. With an economy of 2.80, taking 15 wickets in 29.1 overs is not an easy task.This young talented boy has a good control over the ball, and spinned his teams way to the finals. Abhiyanshu has undoubtedly been New Hind’s one of the best performer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best Batsman: Aniket Pratap (New Hind Sporting Club)

It would have been a huge surprise to see anyone other than  Aniket  Pratap at the head of the frequency table. Opening the innings is one of the toughest jobs in cricket.. Aniket made a top level winning streak.  Leaving aside a few scores here and there, scored 196 runs in 4 matches and maintaining a average of 65.33. He scored 139 runs in a single match and maintained a partnership of 237 runs with his teammate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New Hind Sporting Club has most definitely played and fought their way up to finals,defeating every team in the group stage,topping the table and then defeating Lord Northbooks Cricket Club in the semi-finals but unfortunately losing the opening wickets in the early overs was the turning point of the game, and the trophy was lifted by the Navroz Cricket Club at the Karnatak Sports Ground, Cross Maidan.
