Looking forward to Virat’s batting in South Africa

“If you ask me, 2018 will be a very big year in India’s evolution as a top team in the world. This series is very important as it will reinforce the inherent self belief this team has in itself; so beginning well will be the key.

“The pace attack is beautiful in this team; there are names like Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya who should be able to dominate even though they are ‘away’ from home. In fact, this current team is the most exciting seam ball attack to play overseas!

“Another thing I am looking forward to this series is Virat’s batting; he’s already bagged the tag of best batsman of this generation, he and most other top order batsmen have a tremendous potential overseas. Although, if we want to win a test match, we need to have at least 5 bowlers as we need to pick wickets rather than just make lots of runs.

“My prediction – it will be a competition between India’s batting and South Africa’s batting; the team which scores more runs at numbers 5,6 and 7 will win.”
