ISPL (Indian Street Premier League) And All You Need To Know About It
Cricket is not just a sport, but a religion in India. People don’t just follow cricket but possess faith in this sport. I feel fortunate that I have been able to contribute to cricket for many years. As a leading sport, varied formats of cricket have been introduced, with the aim of bringing the best talent ahead. ISPL is one such exciting format that’s soon to be introduced!
I am thrilled to express my enthusiasm for the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), a groundbreaking cricket concept that I believe is a game-changer, akin to the IPL. Drawing upon my extensive experience playing cricket at the highest level for India and contributing to talent identification for NIKE as the Head of Sports Marketing, as well as serving on the National Selection Committee for the BCCI, I am honoured to announce my role as one of the Chief Talent Scouts for the ISPL.
I am eager to mention the highlights of the ISPL:
- Joining me in this endeavor is the esteemed Pravin Amre, and together, we lead a team of over 10 accomplished cricket scouts.
- Our primary goal is to select a pool of 350 talented cricketers who will enter the ISPL Auction in February.
- The ISPL selection trials will be spanning 12 Indian cities.
- Adding to the league’s prestige is the involvement of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri.
- The team owners are iconic figures from the world of Indian cinema (Bollywood), with Amitabh Bachchan overseeing the Mumbai Franchise and Akshay Kumar owning the Srinagar Franchise.
